Jess, Ben, Kai & Jude | High park with this sweet family

Well, I’m not really sure what could be sweeter than one of my most favourite families in one of my most favourite spots in the city. These four literally have my heart. And so does this place. So it was one sweet afternoon. My goodness am I ever craving these days, being out and about and spending time with gems like these four! I sure hope this quarantine life comes to an end soon!!

This is one of those families that I have photographed for every single milestone and they hold a very big piece of my heart (not to mention the fact that Jess was our midwife at my son’s birth and was my rock for so much of my own motherhood journey).

But, back to them; I’ve photographed them when they were engaged, then married, just randomly over pie & bourbon one rainy afternoon on their porch. I’ve photographed them pregnant with Kai, then as a family of three, then I had the pleasure of documenting Jude’s birth in the most beautiful home birth I’ve witnessed. Then I photographed them as a family of four. And, I hope it just never stops because each time I spend time with them my whole heart lights up. Watching them grow, shift through the chapters of their lives and experience life; it’s the why when people ask me why I love family photography. They are the reason.
