Lifestyle sessions | 2022 favourite moments

Here she is, the 2022 round-up of all the best lifestyle photo sessions I did this past year from maternity, newborn, family, and engagement sessions. While you will see my love sessions here, the best of my 2022 wedding moments are going to have a whole other slideshow and blog post dedicated to them. It’s such a big part of what I do but equally matches the whole of my lifestyle sessions, so I thought it would be best to split those two up. And, I decided not to include my portraits or boudoir, but don’t be fooled, those still happened and I LOVE doing them so much. I didn’t feel like this gallery was a good place for them but trust me, you’ll be seeing much more of those sessions in 2023 from me.

2022.

Where do I even begin? It was a busy one, it was a beautiful one and it was a juicy one. I’ve come to find that juicy was my word this past year.

Juicy love, juicy colours, juicy interactions and juicy moments.

I was so thankful for the people who I worked with. There were so many new faces and so many familiar ones. I’m very grateful for the amount of repeat work I get. And, it’s really so very cool to see as little ones grow up and how couples transition from just them, to adding new members and how they shift in the role of parenthood.

Personally, I found that after a tough 2021 of being very busy and capturing more memories than making my own, I really wanted to set up some boundaries to keep myself in a good place that not only makes me a happier human, but makes me a better business woman and artist. The expression “filling my cup” was on repeat in our household. And so with that all being something I kept in mind, and all of that being something I really learned from, I felt that 2022 was a year that was more aligned with the person I’m becoming (because we are all constantly shifting and changing).

I was in my car quite a bit and thankfully I bought a new car in May just in time for the season to really pick up. It’s not a lie when I say that a car is like a second home to me because I’ve been known to use it as a changing room, a snack room and even take a few naps in there too. I think this is quite a common thing among us on-location photographers.

2021 was the biggest year in my career and while I didn’t think I could possibly top it, the numbers for 2022 came in and they blew me away. And while this probably doesn’t matter to others, I often use my blogs as a way to come back to where I was in that particular year in my life and see how hard I worked or what I did, or who I shared it with. It’s a cool thing to have a record of. The number for shoots for 2022 were: Boudoir -  6 | Brand - 2 | Lifestyle- 223 | Love-  32 | Portraits - 18 | Weddings - 48 | Woohooo. I guess it makes sense I had to repair the shutter on three of my cameras and added a 4th camera to my kit.

To all the humans that booked a session with me this year, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for choosing me in a city that has so many talented individuals. Thank you for sharing your heart and welcoming me into your homes, your hearts and letting me capture your memories.

I don’t take the fact that you’ve invested in my company lightly. It is the reason that I keep doing this. And I keep loving it. So thank you. All my love and then some ;)

Enjoy this little slideshow or at least one moment from each lifestyle session. And keep your eyes peeled for the wedding round-up coming up next!
