Maddy & Jon | a love session at home in a giant tub

If you caught part one to this session,  you probably didn’t see this coming unless you were at their wedding.  I say this because, in all my years of being a wedding photographer, I’ve never had a reference to one of my shoots brought up in every. single. speech. and. even. the. intro. toast! Wowza! It was a hot topic that was covered over and over again making this quite the famous little session among their friends and family.

This session sure is a spicy one and I have to say, I had the. best. freaking. time. ever!! It wasn’t just a blast because the concept was the most fun (a giant bathtub with a super playful couple!), but these two are the total package.  Every single experience with these gorgeous souls has me smiling from ear to ear.

From meeting them to discuss working together on their wedding day to making it official (even their emails left me smiling) to running around the beaches in bright yellow chucks and just capturing their sweet love & play, these two have such tender care for those around them and especially each other.

When we planned this shoot, I had this total dream in my head of how it would go. First, the beach and then bubbles in the bath. But it just blew my plan out of the water because these two have a tendency of making what they do rock so much harder than anything you could ever expect.

We came back to their place after our beach stroll (you can see their beach love session here) and in the epic bathtub was the biggest mountain of bubbles I have ever seen waiting for us. Madison’s mom and sister had helped set it up while we were shooting the first part at the beach so that we saved time and—oh my goodness—did they ever go above and beyond.

Side note: As a mom of a toddler who loves bubbles, I have NO idea how they got the amount of bubbles they did, at the height they did. It takes some serious attention to swooshing the water back and forth and an obscene amount of bubble bath. Or, they are just magic. Either way, I seriously need to take some tips from them, ‘cause Holy Moly...

EPIC.

And to complete this beyond everything I could have ever imagined to shoot, there was a bottle of champagne and, of course, some smooth tunes by Drake playing for the duration of the bathtub portion (which perfectly set the mood.) This one particular song (lyrics listed below) has some special sentiments to Madison & Jon so we had it on repeat and now every time I hear Fire & Desire, I can’t help but think of these two beauties.

To leave you off,  because you really need to get to these spicy & super playful photos, I just have to say that when it comes to couples sessions, make it fun. Go big or go home. Or just be ready for some serious playtime.

Be open. Be vulnerable. Get comfortable with the person photographing you so that you can get those photos where you forget they are there and you are just connected to the person you are in the photos with. That’s what these sessions are about anyways; they are about you two and your relationship. It’s about the way you love, play and exist together. These sessions can be fun, they can be sexy, they can be intimate and they can be a blast; it’s really up to you.

I’m just so freaking honored I keep getting couples like these two who truly know how to love hard and are so kind to everyone around them making the world feel like such a dreamy slice of yumminess.

And now, feast your eyes on the most talked-about engagement session I may have ever captured. And, rightfully so, because it is one epic session if I may say so myself!

Do I have you totally wanting your own steamy bathtub sesh? Or, does it inspire your creative juices for another idea to toss around? Reach out to me and let’s see how we can work on your vision together.

And now those lyrics I mentioned!

Fire & Desire, by Drake
Dedicate, I dedicate the world
Yeah, oh
I dedicate, I dedicate
I give you my fortune
I dedicate, I dedicate
I dedicate, I dedicate
I dedicate, dedicate, dedicate
I dedicate to you
I dedicate

Throwin' dirt on my old name
Only gets worse when you know things
You don't see the perks of this whole thing
But you get real on a pill and I like it
You just like my psychic, I just wanna buy
Fulfill all your desires
Keep you in the front, never in the back
And never on the side, yeah

You a real ass woman and I like it
I don't wanna fight it

Look, you know I'm a rider, nothin' left to hide
Your other nigga tired
Talk about you like you'll never leave his side
But I don't really buy it
Me I'm movin' quiet, all the things we're tryin'
Let's just keep it private
Tell me should I cut these other girls right out of my life?
'Cause we never decided
Tell me how you feel inside

You a real ass woman and I like it
Dedicate to you
I need you inspired, I need you excited
I don't wanna fight it

I figure out you, you figure out me
We both a different breed
I'm followin' your lead, I ask you what you need
You say it's guaranteed
I mean you say that like it's easy
You never believe me
Told you I got Zs for these other girls sleepin' on him
Girl I'm sleepy
Sometimes I'm so indecisive

But you a real ass woman and I like it
I don't wanna fight it

I give you my fortune
I dedicate, I dedicate, woah yeah
I dedicate, I dedicate
I dedicate, baby, dedicate
I dedicate to you
I dedicate, I dedicate
This song's for you
I dedicate, I dedicate
I give you my all
I give you my voice
This song's for you

Enjoy!

Big love, Scarlet xo
