Melissa & Aubrey | At home maternity session

Their sweet babe arrived a little while ago, but this remains one of my most favorite home maternity sessions. Just looking at it gives me butterflies because capturing moments like this, with couples like them- well its why I love my job and what I miss so much as we all stay home.

I got into photography fascinated by people, their quirks, their likes, their mannerisms, their stories, and the way photography captures more than all of that in just one image. I got into photography because of my love for humans and the stories we all carry with us. I got into photography because it lights a fire in my heart. And while right now, I’m only using my camera to capture my own family (something I am very fortunate to do) I’m falling in love with the images I’ve created over and over again.

And, it’s bringing me back to all the sweet moments with all these wonderful souls. That’s part of the magic of photography because while you might not be able to be there now, you can remember all these moments and feel the happiness now that it brought you back then. It really is magic!
