Sharan & Dave | on the cusp of parenthood.. a home maternity session

Parenthood, motherhood, fatherhood…. the biggest shift in a couples relationship, and one of the most life-changing. And being asked to document this milestone, this moment, this waiting period of becoming a parent, this absolutely beautiful time in their lives; well it was more than an honour.

I first met them when I was very very pregnant on one of the first pop up chapels by the Love by Lynzie team. These pop ups are amazing and so convenient for couples to have a cool but chill easy peasy elopement. But a tricky thing for me doing something like these rad pop up chapels is that I don’t know the couples beforehand. I meet them as they are about to walk down the aisle. It’s totally opposite to how I run my photography business where the foundation of my work is made from the connections I have with couples even before their wedding.

But, when I met these two it was magic & excitement. They knew who I was, and they knew my work. And their excitement had me on cloud nine and I couldn’t help but fall instantly in love with them. So, when Sharan got in touch to document her maternity, my heart skipped a beat.

They are two fabulous souls that I hope to have the honour of knowing for all the milestones of their lives, because documenting their love, their kindness, their joy and the way they are growing as a family is the reason why I love what I do and why I’m so hoping that this is something I can always do as my main profession.
